Bulgaria has issued an emergency recall to stop the sale of children's toy-style e-cigarettes
According to BNT reported on July 17, in response to the recent emergence of children's toy-type electronic cigarette products on the market, the Bulgarian Consumer Protection Commission (CPC) recently issued an emergency recall order, requiring relevant companies to immediately stop selling and recall such products. It is reported that at the end of May this year, an electronic cigarette product resembling a tiger pattern was widely sold online and offline channels, because of its unique appearance design, it is easy to attract the attention of young people.
In a statement issued on July 17, CPC clearly pointed out that such toy-shaped e-cigarette products pose a serious threat to the health and safety of consumers, and in order to protect the health and safety of the public, especially the youth group, CPC has determined to recall specific brands and models of toy-shaped e-cigarette products.
All regional councils, ngos and the National Association of Municipalities of the Republic of Bulgaria will be notified of the recall at the same time, and customs authorities will also be informed of the recall. To further strengthen supervision, CPC will issue a Europe-wide recall notice through the RAPEX Rapid Exchange of Information System (RAPEX), the European safety gate for hazardous non-food products.
In accordance with the relevant provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, the CPC will promulgate a bill to completely prohibit the production, import, export, marketing and withdrawal from all commercial establishments of such goods; The bill will be published in the National Gazette to ensure consumers are protected from potential health and safety threats.
The recalled product is TIGER POD e-cigarettes, which feature a variety of fruit flavors and patterns, including peach, lemon, iced melon and iced watermelon, with the barcode 6970323376690, 6970323374788 and 6970323374764, respectively.
